Rich Sanderson curator of science at the Springfield Science Museum presents the evening's talk for us. He will tell us about 10 astronomy events from the past 50 years of his life that he's been lucky enough to witness: total solar eclipses, an annular eclipse, transits of Venus, a couple brilliant comets, the Leonid meteor storm, a -18 magnitude fireball that appeared during one of his first Stellafanes in the early 1970s, and a rainbow so rare that the sighting he (and others who were with him) made is history’s only known observation of it.
