On to some other stuff. Here the solid maple Split Blocks (lower truss pole seats) get a coat of Sanding Sealer. This soaks into the maple, raises the grain, protects the wood from moisture and provides a good binder for the clear Polyurethane finish (ready for first of 3 coats in bottom picture). |
Yours Truly applies Clear Polyurethane. Bottom picture shows how 3 coats of semi-gloss poly bring out the beautiful natural accents of the maple. The finish will also protect the wood for years. |
